The Weight of a SoulShe walked over, dark hair partially obscuring her face, and handed me the tiny firefly jar. Inside was a cloudy mist, glowing softly white with thin wisps of purple-black smoke swirling round within the tiny storm of light. I gently accepted it, feeling a sudden and overpowering weight on me as I held the small jar. The glass was warm as if it had been in the sun. I looked up at her with tears in my eyes.
